Since the mobile boom, there has been a rapid increase in the number of app business opportunities for developers and entrepreneurs. In today’s digital market, there are now around 12 million app developers working on a daily basis to create new and innovative content. If you’re planning to set up a new app business, here are some of the common problems you can expect to face during the early stages of your venture.
No exposure
One of the biggest hurdles for every new brand or business is generating interest from consumers during the early stages of development. Unfortunately, the mobile app industry is no exception to this rule. During the build-up to the release of your app, it’s vital that you make every effort to raise awareness or you may find it dead in the water as soon as it hits the market. This is where things like digital marketing and social media can be used to increase brand exposure.
Lack of funding
Trying to get an app off the ground comes with a list of costs just like any other business opportunity. Finding funding can be quite difficult, especially if you’re a small startup or independent developer. Luckily, there are new channels for funding opening up all the time. Crowdfunding is currently quite popular amongst indie developers and there are also ready-built app templates that can provide a more cost-effective solution for businesses.
Low conversion
One of the hardest things to do in the mobile app industry is to successfully convert consumers and keep them interested in your app. Research has shown that the majority of mobile users will stop using an app after the first 72 hours of installing it. In fact, 35% of mobile app engagements last no longer than a minute. Unfortunately, there’s no quick fix for this problem and it has to be solved with a mixture of unique content and effective marketing.
Fault testing
If you’re planning to create your own app, you will more than likely experience problems along the way when it comes to coding or designing it. Testing is a big part of the development process and can often take up a lot of time and delay the whole process. More businesses are now turning to companies with pre-built app solutions in order to bypass the issues that come with development.
